A very experienced, international public artist who has carried out prestigious commissions in Britain and Europe. He works in a variety of media including bronze, stone and wood as well as pioneering a new way of working with concrete to create truly unique sculptures. He works both figuratively and non figuratively and across all scales to the monumental. The idea for the commission was conceived and driven by a military historian and battlefield guide. Together with a British and French partnership, the money was raised by donations. The 3 meter statue sits on a 1 meter cairn and is made from mixed media and was unveiled in 2002.
