Pipers Memorial 2002
The Pipers Memorial was unveiled on 20th July
2002.
It commemorates all of the pipers killed
in action in the First World War.
The project was funded by a Franco British
initiative headed by the Somme Battlefield Pipe Band.
It stands in the village of Longueval in
the Somme region of France on the busy Circuit du Souvenir.
It is over 12 feet high and is made from
reconstituted stone and resin.
